Miami, On Purpose
The question I get most: why are you still in Miami? It's usually friendly. Sometimes it isn't.
The short answer is that I'm building something, and the thing I'm building requires me to be from somewhere. New York and LA aren't going anywhere. Miami is mine, and the work I'm making here couldn't happen anywhere else.
The longer answer
I trained here. The community that shaped me is here. My family is here. The light is here. I am willing to fly out for a job — I've done it, I'll do it again — but the home base, for now, is intentional.
The part nobody warns you about
Auditioning from a secondary market is a different sport. Less density, more travel, fewer last-minute calls. I've had to be more deliberate about who knows my work. That's part of why this site exists.
